Kusama dots all over Selfridges- An inspiration story-day 111.1

Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama sprinkled her dots all over the world in weird, but o so beautifull,  eye catching art installations and had only a few months ago a huge exposition at Tate in London.
Now she's back in the UK with a 24-window takeover of Selfridges and special project space, the Concept Store.

The Yayoi Kusama-for-Louis-Vuitton take-over of Selfridges started on August 24th 2012 running until October 19th 2012. Pack your bags and head to London!

The Boxy brothers in Ghent-An inspiration story-day 110.4

Haute gastronomy in Ghent? More and more very talented chefs ( Sorry, I hate the empty and too often used word 'TOP' for every moron that lifts it's head a bit above average level)  find their way to 'my home town' Ghent to try out a food experiment (Meat Balls and Glory) , a pop up restaurant (Gaston), or just to open their first innovative restaurant like J.E.F, Volta, Vitrine to name some.

The ones that don't like to stand in the kitchen all the time, they can drop by at the brand new Boxy Fine Foods store: a food catering concept with healthy, surprising take-away gastronomy.
Opened in avant-première at the Gentse Feesten for a quick nibble, but officially open since begin of August.
And, the lucky ones that all ready tasted the fabulous style and finesse of Stefan en Kristof Boxy, know this is high class.
In the 80/90 ties, the Boxy brothers had a Michellin star restaurant in the Maurice Liebaertlaan in Kortrijk, and this happened to be the exact street where I once started my photo studio. We were practically neighbours, and I had the privilege to have lunch there once and a while with some clients.

Now, what about the catering take-away space?
We popped in yesterday and enjoyed the clean interior of the almost royal-like house with two razor sharp presentation tables, a lot of open space, a wooden parquet floor and the obligatory crystal chandelier. Not really mind blowing design, but it has a distant-chic class.

But hey, it's about the food, no?
We discovered a small selection of very fresh soups, ready to heat meals, pasta's, special cheeses, hot and cold sauces like a 'yummie' gastronomic pesto, all with typical Boxy refinement and original finishings.
All dishes look mouth watering good, need we say more?
Prices are a bit higher than average but worth every penny. Next (lazy) friends diner at home ? We know where to go!

My brand new company logo - A life story-day 110.2

Kate Stockman and her brand new company structure SQUID, is proud to present it's company signature logo.

It took us a while to arrive at this result, but let's say, it's pretty amazing, no?

Studio Beard http://www.studiobeard.be/, founded by the talented Dimi Decooman, created this complex tiger image that reflects me, the stuff & digs that surround me,  the glorious of cities, the beauty of nature, the style of a world that fascinates me and above all, an image for my company that's about the future and the way people and brands should co-exist together.
For a good life, a feel of well being, a planet to keep and a very positive attitude towards the world tout court.

Here it is:

I (finally) quit my job!!!- A life story-day 110.1

Hurah!!! Haleluja! Yes, yes, the big moment is finally there: I took over!

I quit my (great) job as a creative director for 8(!) years in an ad agency, and let's be honest, it was a tough decision. But it's the right one, it's now or never and i' more than ready!

So, let just be insanely happy and proud of myself and enjoy this new ride.

Or I can use a (slightly adapted) quote by William Parrish, a character in 'Meet Joe Black':" Passion is something you can't live without. You forget your head, and you listen to your heartI I want you to sing with rapture and dance like a dervish."

YES!
